Who Can Participate?

The Future Leaders program is the next step of the OLI experience. It is intended to encourage only those youth who are prepared to work harder and are ready to start planning for their future!

Therefore, the Future Leaders program is open to:

High School Students

  • Minimum grade 10
  • Performed at least once on stage with OLI beforehand
  • Has had all teachers and the school principal verify the youth’s regular attendance and academic achievements that meet the OLI requirements
  • Have to remain in good standing in the OLI program and must be in the OLI program to remain in the Future Leaders program, if they haven’t graduated
  • Youth must attend the leadership week and Toronto trip
  • Must maintain relationship with mentor and demonstrate commitment to the credit
  • Must complete the work experience requirements of the program

Graduates

  • Must commit to volunteering or working a minimum of 20 hours a week
  • Provide a letter form employer with their hours; volunteering must be through an organization and the letter must be on official letterhead
  • They can only participate in the regular Future Leaders program one time after gradation
  • Future Leaders are required to be healthy and in good physical shape – must tell what you do currently to stay healthy and strong? How are you going to maintain this while enrolled in the FL program? How will you demonstrate?
  • Youth must attend the leadership week and Toronto trip
  • Must maintain relationship with mentor
